 RECCS After School Program
The Recreation and Enrichment Community Center of Shelby (RECCS) is in its second year of the After School program. This is a free program offered to all students grade k-12. A nutritious snack is given every day. The program runs the entire school year from 3:00 – 6:00pm Monday – Thursday and 2:30 – 6:00pm on Fridays. RECCS follows the same holiday and day out schedule as Shelby Schools.
Shelby students ride the bus from the elementary school to the middle school right after release (3:15 for k-3rd grades, and approximately 3:40 for 4th and up. Fridays the bus will leave at approximately 2:40pm). Tutoring is offered every day with 30 laptop computers available to allow children access to the internet, the ability to print out required school reports, and the freedom to complete research projects.
RECCS also offers math, science, language arts, and social study enrichment classes that are hands on learning to bridge what the children learn in school and apply to real life. Special onetime projects are also offered.
Students are not required to attend every day or stay the entire time. The only requirement is that a parent or guardian complete and return a RECCS registration form and sign a rules and regulations contract. If you have any questions please contact Casey Smith, Program Director at 450-0008.

Age: 9 years and up as of October 1.

Season: June - July

Cost: No cost at this time.

TENNIS/OUTDOOR VOLLEYBALL/HORSESHOE PITS

Shelby Tennis courts located in Aronow Park. Three newly resurfaced courts.  Outdoor volleyball court and horseshoe pits also within Aronow Park- north side- Shelby.

TRAP CLUB

Age: 10 years through adult

Season: Winter shooting – Saturdays at 1:00 pm

               Summer League –Adults: Tuesdays @ 6:00 pm Kids: Thursdays @ 5:00 pm

Place: 90 Benjamin Road

Cost: Shooting Fees – Adult: $4.00 a round/Members: $3.50 a round/ Kids: $2.50 a round. Shoot cards available for $50/$100/$140.  Shotgun shells for sale and youth guns available for use at the Trap.

Events: Golden Triangle Trap League shoots monthly within the region. Shelby hosts a Turkey Shoot.
